“I Cant SETTLE for Anything Less” Blazers Key Man Admit He’s Going to….

Deandre Ayton, the first overall pick, spent five seasons with the Phoenix Suns before being moved to the Portland Trail Blazers in the offseason. The 25-year-old center Ayton, who has averaged a double-double in the NBA, had a difficult time adjusting to life in Portland, suffering from knee tendinitis among other things.

A local Blazers insider said that despite Ayton’s recent improvement—scoring in double figures in six of his last seven games—the seven-foot center struggled to adjust to life in Portland.

As previously reported, Deandre Ayton is once again averaging a double-double (13.8 PPG and 10.2 RPG). Despite playing the same number of minutes as he did in Phoenix, he is also on pace to record a new career low in scoring. Not to add, Portland isn’t exactly winning basketball games where there aren’t enough opportunities for everyone to share the ball.

What exactly has been wrong with Ayton in Portland, then? Recently, Jason Quick of The Athletic shared an intriguing tidbit regarding the 2018 NBA Draft’s first overall choice.

Tantrums and tardiness? Although it makes some sense that Ayton could require more time to adjust to her new surroundings, we can’t help but wonder how long the tardiness continued or how obvious the problems grew.
