EX-TCU Coach Gary patterson joins Baylor As…..

Following two draws in the Lone Star State against Texas and Baylor, No. 14 Iowa State heads back home to take on upset-minded TCU in a Saturday Big 12 game in Ames, Iowa. The goal for the visiting Horned Frogs (16-6, 5-4 Big 12) is to win three straight games on the road and place in the top 15 this season. They haven’t played since last Saturday’s 77-66 loss to Texas at home. Iowa State (17-5, 6-3) has won 13 straight games in Ames, including victories over Houston and Kansas last month. The team is unbeaten at home this season.

The program’s first victory in Austin since 2015 came Tuesday as the Cyclones defeated Texas 70-65, taking the lead throughout. Iowa State scored 16 second-chance points after attacking the offensive glass and snatching 16 offensive rebounds. Following their victory over Texas, Iowa State coach TJ Otzelberger remarked, “We knew how tough, how physical they would be.” “I’m really proud of our guys for staying the course and finding the way against a really tough team.” The defensive end has been Iowa State’s strong suit; against Big 12 opponents, the Cyclones surrender just 66.9 points per game, third lowest in the conference. They also force more turnovers than any other team in the Big 12, 16.4 per game.
