NEW ORLEANS — No one had anticipated such name, to be sure. The New Orleans Saints now have openings at the positions of passing game coordinator and quarterback coach following Ronald Curry’s departure to the Buffalo Bills. Reports indicate that they appear to have their target already occupying one of those posts. The Saints are anticipated to appoint veteran quarterback coach Andrew Janocko from the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears to fill the same position in New Orleans, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. While Carr has greater agility and a tendency to process the field more quickly than Cousins, the two quarterbacks for the Saints have similar passing approaches. The most remarkable aspect of Kubiak and Janocko’s work with Cousins was the high pass volume (561) in contrast to the low number of touchdowns (33), and interceptions (7). In a season when he started at least 15 games, Cousins threw the second-fewest interceptions of his career despite having the fourth-most throws of his career. In addition, he had his second-highest full-season touchdown % and lowest career interception percentage while throwing.
