Myles Garrett received the greatest accolades from 49ers future Hall of Fame left tackle Trent Williams on the eve of his probable NFL Defensive Player of the Year victory Thursday night at the NFL Honors event.

When Cleveland.com questioned Williams about Garrett on Wednesday, the 14-year NFL veteran responded, “Best player I’ve ever played against.” “He is an enormous force. He certainly deserves it. I have great admiration for him and am eager to see him succeed.

The five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro Garrett was described by Williams, a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, as to why he is so excellent.

“Are his Combine numbers visible to you?” Williams stated. That has a significant impact on it. He is such a superb athlete, a juggernaut. The measurements and size are obviously elite. He performs all tasks expertly.

Williams suffered a high ankle sprain early in the game, but he came back to try to hold off Garrett, who was the NFL’s seventh-leading sacker with 5.5 at the time en route to his season-ending 14.0 to tie for seventh in the NFL. The Browns hosted the 49ers in Week 6 and defeated them 19-17 to hand them one of only five losses on the season. Williams gave up two rushes and three pressures but kept him to no sacks.
