The New York Yankees aren’t happy with their offseason performance in terms of strengthening their pitching staff because they apparently really tried to acquire a star pitcher who was previously up for trade in addition to pursuing Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

It was always expected that the Yankees would attempt to make some changes to enhance a club that significantly underperformed the previous season after placing fourth in the American League East. And they just got two-time All-Star pitcher Marcus Stroman on a team-friendly contract, and they accomplished just that in a blockbuster trade for All-Star outfielder Juan Soto.
