With advice from James Edwards of The Athletic, the Detroit Pistons appear ready for a quiet spell as the NBA Trade Deadline draws near. Edwards does point out that Tobias Harris, a former Piston who has since shown off his skills with the Philadelphia 76ers, is still a target for the Pistons.

According to league sources, the Pistons are still interested in the sharpshooting forward who spent 2016–18 with Detroit. While a move before the deadline for Harris wouldn’t surprise me, it seems more likely that the Pistons will pursue Harris in the summer using cap space. Detroit seems hesitant to part with any kind of asset for a player that it could sign this summer, according to Edwards.

On January 6, 2016, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press published an article about Johnson’s prognosis. Over the previous two seasons, he had missed a significant amount of practice due to a bothersome ankle condition, and according to Birkett, he had discussed retirement with at least one former teammate.
