LANSING: According to documents examined by Bridge Michigan, a senator from Michigan who supported the allocation of $18 million to a for-profit housing project last year received more than $15,000 in political contributions from the private developer.

Snyder financed the $18 million award for Parkland Properties, a company tasked with converting a long-vacant Muskegon building into apartments and condominiums, according to grant papers made public this week by the State Budget Office.

According to several campaign finance reports submitted last week, Parkland Properties executives contributed over $15,000 to Snyder’s reelection campaign and political action committee in the previous year.
