JUST IN: Joel Pohjanpalo angrily announces his exit as he bitterly explained….

Leeds United arrived on deadline day with Connor Roberts, the only addition to Daniel Farke’s playing roster this time around. The Whites left their January transfer business terribly late.

Despite the paucity of movement, Leeds was nevertheless linked to a number of names during the month, including Manuel Benson and Ben Godfrey, who were both mentioned as potential midseason Elland Road signings.

But one name kept coming up in January: Joe Worrall, the defender for Nottingham Forest. The Whites are rumored to be interested in the player, who has fallen out of favor at the City Ground this season.

The center back was made available on loan by Forest far too late; according to rumors, Nuno Espirito Santo only permitted a temporary swap on deadline day, leaving the Whites with little time to finalize a deal [Alan Nixon, 1 February].

The 27-year-old Forest defender is reportedly having a physical before joining the Turkish powerhouses on loan for the balance of the season, but Besiktas is now thought to have won the race for his signing [The Athletic, 4 February].

Daniel Farke at Leeds United has the ideal Worrall answer in Ethan Ampadu.

Even though Farke has demonstrated in recent weeks that he already has the ideal extra defensive option in his squad, some Leeds United supporters will be devastated to learn that they were unable to expand their choices at the center of defense.
