Kadyn Proctor arrived late to Alabamaand#039’s top recruiting class of 2023. A year and a coaching change later, Proctor is coming home.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Kadyn Proctor is on his way back to the top ten.Proctor, a 6-foot-7, 360-pound former five-star prospect, announced his commitment to Iowa on Saturday. He has three years of eligibility remaining after spending his true freshman season at Alabama.The Des Moines, Iowa native was once committed to the Hawkeyes before becoming a late enrollee in Alabama’s top-rated 2023 recruiting class. He was considered the No. 1 offensive player and No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2023.

Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide this season, and while he struggled — allowing 12 sacks and 36 tackles, according to Pro Football Focus — he was named an All-SEC Freshman by the league’s coaches. 4,444 4,444 Alabama has had 27 scholarship players join the transfer portal since it first opened in December. Proctor is one of 10 participating after Nick Saban stepped down on Jan. 10. 25 out of 27 have already committed to new schools.
