Former Alabama forward Kadyn Proctor, a top-10 recruit who began his freshman season with the Crimson Tide, is transferring to Iowa.Proctor announced his decision on social media Saturday while attending the Iowa men’s basketball game against Purdue in Iowa City.The Des Moines, Iowa, native committed to play at Iowa out of high school before transferring to Alabama in December 2022. He officially entered the transfer window Thursday, eight days after Alabama coach Nick Saban announced his retirement and six days after that. Kalen DeBoer was hired to replace Sabanand#039;

The 6-foot-3, 360-pound Proctor was named to the SEC All-Freshman team by the league and coaches after playing in all 14 games at Alabama last season. Proctor was ESPN’s No. 10 overall utility and offensive tackle in the 2023 class.

Iowa has struggled on the offensive line in recent years, but has a strong lineup of NFL linemen. The Hawkeyes did not hire an offensive coordinator to replace Brian Ferentz, son of longtime coach Kirk Ferentz.

Downs adds to the Buckeyes’ already extensive trade list with Kansas State quarterback Will Howard, Ole Miss linebacker Quinshon Judkins and Alabama center Seth McLaughlin.
